INSAT Perspectives

From the strategic to the tactical, from requirements analysis through development, training and operational support, the INSAT team has applied high technology systems engineering and program management support effectively, rapidly, and economically to national defense and private activities. Our approach is to apply our ongoing and evolving technology expertise in combination with years of experience in advising and supporting senior executives responsible for major program initiatives. One of our key goals is to continue to help transform today's technological and programmatic challenges into the executive information and decision support systems for the warfighter addressing current tasking as well as the future.

Our goals, from Day 1, have been to:

• Support large-scale, complex defense, non-defense, and commercial systems
• Advise program executives concerning major program status and outlook
• Harness world-class systems and software disciplines imaginatively
• Address a variety of defense missions
• Support national and international defense and non-defense agency staffs directly

INSAT applies proven and highly effective methodologies and years of experience to deliver System Engineered Solutions. Key among these methodologies is the application of rigorous and comprehensive Systems Engineering techniques that ensure all aspects of system requirements, DoD architecture guidelines, mission objectives, and life-cycle cost analysis are fully considered in achieving the end product. Formal requirements traceability analysis and a layered quality assurance process combine to ensure that the warfighter requirements are met.

INSAT supports major program management organizations with highly effective and substantial value-added principles:

• INSAT senior management carefully assesses staffing and contractor team participation to identify and remove any organizational conflicts of interest so that only the best interests of the supported government program are served.
• INSAT staff assigned to support major program organizations are highly experienced in the management of major programs, and are strongly grounded in the program's underlying and fundamental technologies so that analysis and advice is based on the realities and capabilities of current technology.
• The INSAT team assigned to support the program office is itself organized to mirror the program organization. This provides not only the program director with a direct INSAT counterpart and point of contact, but also the respective program director's functional area direct reports with their own specialized INSAT point of contact.
